SINGAPORE GARDEN FESTIVAL 2014 – ORCHID EXTRAVAGANZA(2)

SINGAPORE GARDEN FESTIVAL 2014 – ORCHID EXTRAVAGANZA (17 August)

I went back to the Gardens by the Bay yesterday for the Singapore Gardens Festival again.

As I expected, the Flower Dome (where Orchid Extravaganza is held) was less crowded on a weekday.  I arrived at about 11am. Although there was a long queue for the competitive orchids, the queue for the 10-m tall Orchid Kaleidoscope which is the centrepiece for the show, was relatively short.  I had to queue for only about 5 minutes to get in.  Phew!

The Orchid Extravaganza orchid display was designed by award-winning landscape architect, Mr Junichi Inada

The kaleidoscope is certainly very attractive and impressive.  I was mesmerized by it!  It is definitely a not-to-be-missed exhibit in SGF 2014.  Although the SGF 2014 will end on 24 Aug, the orchid display will continue until 21 Sep, 2014.

Feeling satisfied that I have made it to see the Orchid Kaleidoscope, I moved on to spend the whole afternoon visiting the other parts of SGF 2014.  I will be writing about it next. 🙂
